The pictures in the newspaper is not fanart but DC's own pictures. It's canon portraits of superheroes and we're just supposed to accept that this is empowerment. Don't get me wrong - I think everybody should wear what they like, female superheroes too - but there's a pretty big difference between a sexy costume and only being drawn with as a T&A-host.
